2020 Running Goal - Update #18

All right, well, I have four months officially in the books. My body is still feeling good. I had a small nagging right knee pain a few days ago, but that is all gone now. I'm not running as fast as I used to (i.e. a few years ago), but I think I can still improve and get close to where I used to be. April is the first month where I actually got the mileage I needed to be on pace. I was able to run 24 out of 30 days, which is pretty sad when I need 4.1 miles each day, but because I did three half-marathons and some other long runs, I was able to get 128.97 miles for the month. With my April monthly goal of 123 miles (30 days x 4.1 miles), I was able to get ahead and make a little dent in my overall yearly deficit.

So far for 2020, I have 456.38 miles. If I was on pace, I would be at 496.10 miles with four months completed. That puts me at 39.72 miles (or about 10 running days) behind where I need to be.

I am okay with this as long as I can continue to make up some this mileage now as we go into the warmer months. I feel like I should be able to get up before work and get my runs done before it gets too hot and muggy. We'll see how it goes.
